Decolonize Justice - Re-Entry & Stigma
Director, Director of Photography & Editor
In Re-Entry & Stigma, Leyla Martínez makes the issue personal as she shares the wounds that mass incarceration left her: homelessness, loss of job opportunities and the shame of having a criminal record. Her story highlights both the economic and emotional impact incarceration has on Latinos, the gap in data of who’s being affected, and the importance of more people speaking out about their interactions with the criminal justice system in order to make a change.
